The adjustment is a safe, natural, noninvasive procedure used by the chiropractor to restore and improve your health. The spinal adjustment or spinal manipulation refers to the process in which the doctor of chiropractic skillfully applies controlled force into one or more “subluxated” vertebrae of the spine. The adjustment is also frequently used in the pelvic region to normalize the sacroiliac joints.
In addition to adjusting the spine and pelvis, almost every other joint of the body can be adjusted by the chiropractor. Adjusting provides an immediate increase in joint range of motion and also supplies the joint with nutrients, as motion is the only way to bring nutrients into the joint cartilage and flush waste products out.
Electric Stimulation
Treats acute and chronic pain by using strong but comfortable electric impulses to painful areas of the body, easing pain and promoting healing.
Ultrasound
Deep heat therapy that micro-massages the soft tissue and joints to reduce pain, stiffness and spasms that increase blood flow to accelerate the healing process.
Acupuncture
Effectively treats a wide variety of disorders by placing tiny needles in the correct places to adjust the body’s tissues, nerves and hormones to promote a natural healing without side effects. Along with joint muscle and nerve pain, acupuncture heals headaches, arthritis, sinus pain, fibromyalgia, among many other disorders.
Electro-Acupuncture
Stimulates the same points as regular acupuncture, but without needles to yield a safe and effective result, Highly beneficial for children and those with a fear of needles.
Therapeutic Stretching
Therapeutic stretching is important to prevent scar tissue and adhesion formation following injury. Stretching is most effective when initiated early on in the treatment plan before scar tissues become permanent.
Maintaining a regular stretching program once rehabilitation stages of treatment have been completed will help keep tissues flexible and loose, increasing mobility and preventing the development of new injuries.
Massage Therapy
Relieves and reduces musculoskeletal pain and spasms was well as increasing blood circulation, reducing swelling and inflammation, relaxing muscles, and aid in recovery and range of motion. Benefits also include easing medication dependence and enhancing immunity by stimulating lymph flow.
Traction
A chiropractic traction massage may include the patient lying face up as a system of rollers move about the back, all while stretching and massaging the muscles in the back. Chiropractors may use another traction device that stretch the spine, decompress the discs and reduce the pressure on the nerve root (a procedure known as non-surgical spinal decompression).
Therapeutic Massage & Exercise
These are hands on manual therapies that can be used alone or in conjunction with chiropractic care to increase blood and lymph flow and to decrease muscle pain and spasm. Using these therapies with chiropractic care can sped recover time, improve going and muscle motion, reverse poor posture, and release trigger points. By increasing blood flow to the muscles we can increasing healing. Certain techniques focus on the loosening of adhesions and scar tissue which can restrict motion and cause pain and inflammation.
